New video capabilities improve communication, collaboration among teams, customers, partners and more
Kitchener, Ontario – September 15, 2015 – Today at Dreamforce, Vidyard, the leading platform for video marketing and video analytics, introduced Video for Salesforce Communities, empowering users to share and watch video content inline within their communities and measure how engaged audiences are.
Already the first solution to enable video sharing and tracking in the Salesforce Sales Cloud, video sharing in Chatter and video recording in Salesforce1, Vidyard is now the first to enable video for Communities. With two new components for the Salesforce1 Lightning Platform, Vidyard makes it easy for organizations to add video to communicate and collaborate with employees, customers, distributors, resellers – anyone with whom they have a community group.
“It’s no secret that a video is the next best thing to being with someone in person,” said Michael Litt, CEO and co-founder of Vidyard. “Vidyard has helped sales and marketing innovators use the power of video for years. Now we’re expanding that power to anyone who uses Salesforce Communities to take advantage of using video with different groups. The possibilities are endless.”
Salesforce Communities are branded spaces for employees, customers and partners – anyone inside or outside your organization who is important to your business — to stay connected. Video in Communities helps organizations build engaged communities through the power of video. They can communicate with customers to answer questions and provide support and training, with partners to train distributors and resellers on products and services, and with employees to share executive communications, training information or other company material.
One large retailer using Vidyard in Communities is sharing organizational video communications with employees throughout the company’s stores. A healthcare company is using it to help doctors at multiple hospitals collaborate and share best practices. A technology manufacturer is using it to communicate with distributors and resellers.
Like other Vidyard for Salesforce solutions, Video in Communities features in-depth video viewing data, so users can know which video content is most engaging and which users are most engaged. They can see second-by-second viewing data down to the individual user.
Vidyard enables users to add video to a Salesforce Community by either embedding it manually or simply adding it to a Chatter feed within a Community. Organizations can decide who is able to publish videos and whether or not users can comment or share them. They could also add a Vidyard Hub to a Community for easy organization of video content.
The two new Lightning Components allow video to be easily added to a Community using the drag-and-drop Community Builder. The Player Component enables a Vidyard player to be added to a Community page design. The Carousel Component enables multiple videos that live in a Hub to be displayed in a carousel-style format. The components can talk to each other. When a video is selected in the Carousel, it automatically plays in the Player. This works out of the box with no special configuration required. The Player is automatically connected to the video user ID, tracks video engagement and adds it to the Community users’ records in Salesforce.
Vidyard will be demonstrating the Vidyard for Communities this week at Dreamforce 2015 at booth N2004 in Moscone Center North. For more information on Vidyard for Salesforce and Video in Salesforce Communities, please visit http://ift.tt/1ghuIt1.
